FLOWERY BRANCH – On Friday’s “NFL AM,” NFL Network analyst Solomon Wilcots listed Atlanta Falcons strong safety Zeke Motta as his favorite seventh-round pick in last month’s NFL draft.
He likes Motta’s physicality, his size and the fact that in the BCS National Championship Game, Motta made a bunch of tackles on Alabama’s Eddie Lacy and never gave up.
“What I like about Zeke Motta is he’s physical, he can tackle in the open field, he’s a big physical presence at 6[-foot-] 2, 213.”
“I saw a tough kid who never quit in a game when a lot of people were waving the white flag of surrender.”
On Saturday, Motta got his first sense of what a Falcons practice was like when he took part in Atlanta’s Rookie Minicamp at the team’s facility in Flowery Branch, Ga.
