Atlanta Falcons Week 3 Injury Report: Thursday

by Knox Bardeen on September 20, 2012

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Thursday’s Atlanta Falcons injury report looked very similar to Wednesday’s. In fact, it’s exactly the same. Eight players were listed, but only two—cornerback Christopher Owens (head) and running back Antone Smith (hamstring)—did not participate.

The six players that were limited were: Defensive end John Abraham (knee), offensive tackle Tyson Clabo (hip), wide receiver Julio Jones (thigh), linebacker Stephen Nicholas (thigh), linebacker Sean Weatherspoon (thigh) and wide receiver Roddy White (knee).

Head coach Mike Smith said Wednesday that there were some players on the injury report that were only there because the Falcons have to turn around quickly after the Monday night game and travel to the West Coast.

“It’s a short week,” said Smith. “The reason a lot of those guys were limited in their participation is because we’re on a short week. We wanted to rest some of those guys.”
