Falcons Sign Four Rookies

by Alex Welch on May 13, 2012

After the initial report of Peter Konz signing, three other rookies have come to terms with the Falcons. The team announced Bradie Ewing, Charles Mitchell and Travian Robertson all signed contracts Sunday afternoon.

With rookie camp closing out, the biggest priority has been finalizing deals with the newest members of the franchise. Only Jonathan Massaquoi and Lamar Holmes have yet to sign from the 2012 rookie draft class.

The newest additions looked good over the weekend. Mike Smith had great things to say about each player throughout minicamp.

Each player has a chance to make an impact in 2012. Konz will be competing for right guard, a position in need of an upgrade after the 2011 season. Smith talked about Ewing’s ability to catch passes out of the backfield, indicating how he might be used this year.

Mitchell and Robertson provide depth to the defense. They’ll have opportunities to step up depending on their performances in training camp.

Now that the contracts are out of the way, these rookies can now focus on what lies ahead in the offseason.
