The Atlanta Falcons trimmed their roster down to 80 players earlier today when they waived tight end Chase Coffman, linebacker Max Gruder, kicker Erik Folk, running back Richard Medlin, fullback Lee Meisner, defensive end Louis Nzegwu, wide receiver Kenny Stafford, and tight end Aron White.
With the season right around the corner, decisions have to be made all around the league. Some are easier to make than others.
Atlanta made three other moves to get its roster to 77.
Offensive lineman Will Svitek was placed on injured reserve while the team reached injury settlements with defensive tackle Elisha Joseph and cornerback Darrin Walls.
The Falcons still have two more decisions to make with Monday being the deadline for teams to be down to 75 players. Atlanta will then have to cut down again to bring the roster to 53 players by Friday.
